Day 7, part 1
Gerstlauer gone MAD??

We had plenty of time after our visit at Plohn so we headed for the next place to get my second to last Gerstlauer Bobsled credit (just Cobra left now...) but we discovered something even more awesome then the coaster...

euro200929_65.jpg

Before we arrived to the park, we spotted this giant thing, that we guess have something to do with the Global Warming we experienced this morning...

euro200929_66.jpg

Hmm, pyramids in the middle of nowhere in Germany??

euro200929_67.jpg

Yay Belantis!!

euro200929_68.jpg

Looks like the middle east somewhere

euro200929_69.jpg

This park is enormous

euro200929_70.jpg

Let's go in this direction

euro200929_71.jpg

Getting closer to Egypt

euro200929_72.jpg

Is it just me or do the Pyramid look smaller in this picture??

euro200929_73.jpg

Pretty cool station for the Flume boats

euro200929_74.jpg

Giant Helix of DEATH!!

euro200929_76.jpg

Look a credit

euro200929_77.jpg

Poor people going up the lift

euro200929_79.jpg

They don't know what is waiting for them

euro200929_80.jpg

This coaster is the worst we rode on this trip

euro200929_84.jpg

Greatly themed though

euro200929_85.jpg

It gives some strange rattly airtime

euro200929_86.jpg

OMG, WE ARE GOING TO DIES!!!

euro200929_87.jpg

Mmmm,, riders, I hope you like the brakes that follows, that feels like driving straight into a brick wall...

euro200929_83.jpg

Look a tower

euro200929_88.jpg

Really nice themed area

euro200929_78.jpg

Another angle

euro200929_14.jpg

What the heck is that, even I don't know??

euro200929_82.jpg

YAY, for obstacle courses

euro200929_81.jpg

What the heck is that!!

euro200929_89.jpg

Strange things

euro200929_12.jpg

That looks like fun!!

euro200929_13.jpg

It's apparently called Götterflug, Hang Over would be a better name, since that's how you feel after you get of :)

euro200929_90.jpg

First you strap yourself into these chairs

euro200929_91.jpg

Then they hoist you up the tower, and spin a bit

euro200929_92.jpg

Well you could ride it like this

euro200929_93.jpg

But we went berserk and did this instead

euro200929_94.jpg

W00t!!

euro200929_95.jpg

We easily managed 60+ inversion on this thing :)

euro200929_96.jpg

It was like you were strapped onto a propeller :)

euro200929_97.jpg

Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky, Ground, Sky......

Since static images don't show the whole thing here is a short video!!

CLICK here for video (I was unable to upload it to youtube so TPR would have to do)

It was very windy that day which could be seen in the end where my brother spins like crazy while the whole things stands still :)

euro200929_98.jpg

We went on the strange flume-boat thingy, and it's beyond awesome!!

euro200929_100.jpg

Overview

euro200929_101.jpg

They have also got one of these things

euro200929_102.jpg

It's time for us to leave, but go ride this thing, it's the best new flat ever made!!

euro200929_103.jpg

On the way out we spotted that we could try Segways for free!! if we bought a hairnet for a Euro, so that's what we did :)
The bad thing with this that I really want one now :)

euro200929_15.jpg

What the hack is that!!

euro200929_16.jpg

/b/!?!

euro200929_104.jpg

On the way to the next hotel we spotted some giant Antonov's!!

I really have to say this about Götterflug, it's awesome and anyone can ride it since you control how intense the ride should be. Either you do nothing and just float through the air, or you could move the wings a little and tilt a bit from side to side, or you can do like we did, go for as many spins as possible. The problem by going with Berserk mode is that it sometimes feels like the seat is going to come of the ride :) (mighty scary), when you get of everything is like after a hard night out and you get some massive bruises on your shoulders, but it's all worth it :)

Next up we get cursed!!

That has to be a record. You wrote "ground" 10 consecutive times without spelling it right once...

Nah, I'm not here to look at your grammar. The trip must have been awesome! But how much money did it cost? And how many pics were taken in total?
Nice to see that Blue Fire delivers as well. Perhaps Mack one day will grow to be a manufacturer with the reputation that B&M and Intamin have today? El Toro looks as good as its namesake, at least aesthetically.

^ LOL I didn't notice the misspelling, but it's fixed now :)

About the cost, then we had some discounts here and there, and we choose pretty cheap hotels, and didn't buy that many souvenirs or were eating constantly, but I guess that in the area of around 10000 SEK (around 8200 NOK, 917 €, £800, 1300$) would cover everything/person (of course it would be cheaper if you were more then 2)...

YES!!

Between the two of us going, then we have taken 4600+ pictures during these ten days :) (that's without the images I lost one day in a file transfer accident :( ).

I as many other that have been on blue fire agree that Mack are on to a winner, it's far superior then any of the accelerator's I have ridden, and I also prefer it to any B&M I have ridden, so hopefully they might get a great reputation and are allowed to build more of them, since everyone needs to ride one of these.

I think my brother even rates this El Toro higher then the American one :)

Day 9
The day of the curse...

This was one of the other days of the trip I was looking forward to, then new Gerstlauer Eurofighter with an extra launch, Fluch von Novgorod. Since there isn't anyone that have posted a massive review on an English forum of this ride (OK some German forums might have done that...). So it made it even more interesting...

Picture first, then review :)

euro200930_24.jpg

Look there is some tower from Fluch von Novgorod!!

euro200930_25.jpg

They have completely remodeled the entrance since we were last here

euro200930_26.jpg

Hi Nessie!!

euro200930_27.jpg

You looks as good as always, but we will return to you later, since it was time to get cursed!!

euro200930_01.jpg

There have been a lot of discussion that you would experience a lot of head banging in this twisty bit...

euro200930_29.jpg

But there was none at all!!

euro200930_02.jpg

The cars flows really nice through these sections.

euro200930_30.jpg

Massive airtime here I come!!

euro200930_03.jpg

And after massive airtime, it's time for sideways floater

euro200930_31.jpg

The themeing that is done looks ace!!

euro200930_04.jpg

The only inversion of the ride

But before I continue with the rest of the FvN images here are some of the rest of the park:

euro200930_32.jpg

They have horsies

euro200930_06.jpg

Some really strange looking rides

euro200930_43.jpg

And a looping shark

euro200930_33.jpg

A really massive Star Flyer

euro200930_34.jpg

A big drop/shot tower

euro200930_37.jpg

Too bad that it SUCKS!! you get a better ride in the observation tower...

euro200930_35.jpg

Greatly themed rubber ring water rides

euro200930_36.jpg

A giant bell

euro200930_39.jpg

Bing-bong!!

euro200930_38.jpg

Another Mexico area

euro200930_60.jpg

Where they have this really strange ride, it's clearly not a credit

euro200930_23.jpg

LOL a safari photography ride :)

euro200930_40.jpg

A really nicely themed mouse

euro200930_41.jpg

With massive drops

euro200930_05.jpg

They have a mechatronic orchestra

euro200930_42.jpg

But the dog seems a bit worn

euro200930_44.jpg

Signature shot of Nessie

euro200930_45.jpg

Whoosh

After we got bored with the other rides we headed back towards FvN

euro200930_47.jpg

The outdoor section is really nice

euro200930_46.jpg

This is supposed to be designed after a knot...

euro200930_49.jpg

Even though it looks like it have come straight of Magnum XL200

euro200930_50.jpg

I don't think that it would work anyway...

euro200930_48.jpg

Then it's straight into the Inline twist

euro200930_07.jpg

Inversion, mmmm

euro200930_51.jpg

Sideways airtime is the best feeling :)

Then we decided to raid the tower

euro200930_52.jpg

Splash boat

euro200930_09.jpg

Even if it's new, it still looks like a remnant of the Legoland days...

euro200930_55.jpg

Some people going for a ride

euro200930_10.jpg

A shot of all of Nessie

euro200930_53.jpg

On the way back indoor

euro200930_54.jpg

Overview shot of the outdoor section

euro200930_11.jpg

After the tower it was time for another ride on FvN

euro200930_12.jpg

This is what happens if you ignore the too tall limit

euro200930_56.jpg

It looks like these guys survived

euro200930_13.jpg

Going down!!

euro200930_14.jpg

Entrance

euro200930_15.jpg

Beware that these crows doesn't curse you!!

euro200930_16.jpg

It's going to look great when all the buildings looks like this

euro200930_17.jpg

Did I say it was fast

euro200930_59.jpg

Sneaky station shot

euro200930_61.jpg

More images of the Inline

euro200930_62.jpg

Just imagine how great this image would be when they finish the buildings

euro200930_63.jpg

We interrupt this FvN drooling with a nice and cool SPLASH!!

euro200930_64.jpg

Airtime through the trees

euro200930_65.jpg

Really ace

euro200930_66.jpg

This park is really nicely themed

euro200930_18.jpg

Nessie doing what he does best, swallowing a long one :)

euro200930_67.jpg

What could make this image better??

euro200930_68.jpg

A coaster train of course :)

euro200930_69.jpg

Going up the lift...

euro200930_70.jpg

Airtime!!

euro200930_71.jpg

Signature shot!!

euro200930_72.jpg

Similar signature shot of FvN

euro200930_73.jpg

It really blends in with the surroundings

euro200930_74.jpg

Sideways!!

euro200930_75.jpg

Awesomeness

euro200930_76.jpg

Almost worthy to be a wallpaper

euro200930_79.jpg

This one is even better

euro200930_77.jpg

Add these...

euro200930_78.jpg

on there...

euro200930_80.jpg

YAY for themeing :)

euro200930_81.jpg

From across the railway

euro200930_19.jpg

But hey what is that!!

euro200930_20.jpg

Look it's Alexej!!

euro200930_21.jpg

Over the hill

euro200930_22.jpg

Looks a bit like an elephant

euro200930_82.jpg

NICE!!!

euro200930_83.jpg

This coaster gives better airtime then Silver Star :)

euro200930_84.jpg

Can't they do as Heide park and redo this into a drop tower :)

euro200930_85.jpg

I didn't bother to wait to get one in sync...

euro200930_86.jpg

But if anyone want one then you can always stitch this into the picture above...

euro200930_87.jpg

One last look

euro200930_88.jpg

Bye for this time Hansa park

OK review time:
The first thing I want to say is that I quite liked this coaster, since it does so much. Great launch, a fun outdoor section and the final bit is great as well...
It rides like a dream, there is no head banging as you have on some other Eurofighter (there is a couple of jolts that you feel if you ride the side seats in the front row, but that's it). The ride is pretty different when you compare the front and back row at some places, front row isn't as pleasant at one spot if you are a guy :) , but the back don't have any of that problem...
Even if it's a good ride, then I would almost recommend everyone that is interested in this ride to wait to later this year, or even better next year, since then they might have been able to finish of all the themeing on this ride. There is a lot that need to get done, buildings need's cladding, the whole queue isn't even close to done, all the effects inside also needs a lot of work...
But it was either wait to open the ride or open it and then add stuff along the course, and for us they made the right decision :)
But it would be even better when they finally finish of the whole thing :)

FvN looks awesome. Shame about them getting behind and not all the theming complete. I hope that all the indoor effects are done first and soon so that we get an even better die experience next month.
The station for Fluch looks amazing.
Did you get to check out that maze thing at the exit of Fluch?

Maze?? I have no idea of what you are talking about... :--D

I have no idea on what will be done first, since the park is opened between 9-18 every day then working on the inside might be tricky, so you have to survive with some strobes on scaffolding with some capes on them...

There is really a lot to do, and I think that they might run it as it is, and then fix it up during the off season :(

Final day, part 1
Old coaster kicks ass, in a good way, part 1

Tivoli was the first park I visited as an enthusiast way back in 2004, and during that visit I wasn't as credit happy as I am now, so I still had the kiddy coaster to get :)

The day started with a 3 hour drive from Lübeck and our hotel, and after a ferry ride and some cruising on the motorway, we finally arrived just after the park opened...

We first headed over to Rutchebanan, the Woodie built in 1915, for our first rides, and I have to say that this ride still is one of the better wooden coasters I have ridden, I would almost say that it's pure awesomeness!!
Next coaster on the menu was Dæmonen, and it suffers greatly from the same kind of vibrations that Silver Star have, so the ride isn't as good I remembered it from when it was new :(
Then I finally got my long sought after missed credit :) which made me really happy.
Then we were also standing a looking on the new ride that Tivoli have installed, and really wanted to ride it, but since they were just operating one of the sides it meant that we had to wait for a much longer time that we had time for, so it meant that we skipped it for another day and grabbed a few more awesome rides on Rutchebanan...

Pictures!!

euro200931_13.jpg

Then suddenly we were in the Arabic

euro200931_14.jpg

Cool, I remember these from Kurashiki!!

euro200931_15.jpg

euro200931_16.jpg

It have recently received some TLC

euro200931_17.jpg

It's one of those side friction rides with a brakeman

euro200931_18.jpg

They ride on that tiny seat during the ride

euro200931_19.jpg

They were running 3 trains, great

euro200931_20.jpg

The car really needs those block's on the end since you slide pretty violently around the turns :)

euro200931_21.jpg

A Star Flyer is built up on a platform above a section of a park, they have one of the slowest loading I have experienced...

euro200931_22.jpg

It's right by the power coaster

euro200931_23.jpg

It's just inches away

euro200931_24.jpg

Here it comes again

Spinny spinny, this thing might break your neck :(

euro200931_54.jpg

Looks nice, but is headache inducing

euro200931_01.jpg

The new ride for this year

euro200931_47.jpg

It have two modes

euro200931_48.jpg

Either it goes really fast in this kind of loop

euro200931_49.jpg

Or slower and you can use the joystick to control it

euro200931_50.jpg

But faster is cooler

euro200931_51.jpg

Sounds awesome as well

Then it was time for Bakken

Wow Tivoli looks really nice. That B&M looks cool, does it ride as good as it looks? Loving the theming in these parks too.

Final day, part 2
Old coaster kicks ass, in a good way, part 2

Then after 9 days driving through Europe and 17 different parks it was finally time for the final stop of the trip, and it turned out to be harder to get here then we initially though. Since it was Sunday and the weather was great, a loads of Danish people was thinking the same thing and was also heading for Bakken, so a short drive and an easy parking, became a long hot slow moving traffic jam, when we finally arrived at the park all the parking was full so we had to go and look for somewhere else to park, and we finally found some public parking 1.5 miles away. But since it was so nice weather then it didn't really bother us...

After finally reaching the park we got caught in the largest and slowest queue of the evening, to get our wrist bands...

After we finally got them, we made fast progress through the park and the credits, and was helped by the awesome operations of the rides, they were loading people like crazy (I guess that since they get payed by the number of riders they have they want to have as many as possible > fast loading).

For the final time for this trip report, PICTURES!!!!!!

euro200931_110.jpg

We finally arrived at Bakken, a place I have wanted to visit for years now...

euro200931_63.jpg

We made quick work of Mariehønen and nearly broke it in the process :)

euro200931_09.jpg

Tiny Ferriswheel

euro200931_64.jpg

Hmm, Afrokopperne...

euro200931_06.jpg

There was a lot of wet people walking around in the park, and I guess that this is the cause

euro200931_65.jpg

New for 2009, an Intamin spinner

euro200931_66.jpg

It goes really fast of the lift

euro200931_07.jpg

See what I mean, lightning fast

euro200931_67.jpg

or it wouldn't clear this section

euro200931_08.jpg

They have a small launch system, similar to that on an accelerator, for the hydraulically driven lift chain motor

euro200931_05.jpg

The car's look good, but the OSTR bit really slashes your neck around the course, not pleasant

euro200931_68.jpg

They need a launch of the lift or the car wouldn't clear this turn as well

euro200931_69.jpg

These chains sound's like crap when they launch the car of the lift

euro200931_71.jpg

Tornado, once described as:
"They report that Tornado looks amazing, but is (quote) "rougher than a bag of spanners". Apparently they ended up with bruises from the restraints :/ !"
And I agree...

euro200931_86.jpg

Since Tornado broke down on us, while we were waiting we headed for Rutschebanen

euro200931_70.jpg

Another really old coaster for today

euro200931_72.jpg

This double down creates some really crazy airtime

euro200931_73.jpg

Completely crazy, but awesome ride

euro200931_74.jpg

It shakes really bad during the course

euro200931_75.jpg

Awesome Intamin mine train

euro200931_76.jpg

Broken :(

euro200931_77.jpg

The lift on Rutschebanen is extremely fast and no way near straight :)

euro200931_78.jpg

There goes another load of happy riders

euro200931_79.jpg

Yay for a good Intamin

euro200931_80.jpg

Down to the lift

euro200931_81.jpg

The rest of the layout is really twisty <3

euro200931_82.jpg

There it goes again

euro200931_83.jpg

If you missed which coaster we are on

euro200931_84.jpg

Loads of powerful helices

euro200931_85.jpg

Looks so great

euro200931_87.jpg

I got a German fair vibe from this place <3

euro200931_88.jpg

They have a lot of rides that looks like they belongs on a German fair at least

euro200931_89.jpg

They had a dueling, space shot and frog hopper :)

euro200931_90.jpg

A massive Enterprise, I haven't seen any of these in days :)

euro200931_91.jpg

Then we found the last coaster in the park before we headed of to see if Tornado had opened again

euro200931_92.jpg

It's one of these awesome coasters with no restraints <3

euro200931_93.jpg

It goes pretty great as well

euro200931_94.jpg

Mmmm

euro200931_96.jpg

But it was time to see if they had gotten Tornado to open again

euro200931_97.jpg

Mmm, airtime

euro200931_98.jpg

YAY, it's opened again!!

euro200931_99.jpg

The cars are good, but the restraints are whack

euro200931_100.jpg

Yay, for crazy airtime in the back

euro200931_101.jpg

Another round of people goes for a ride

euro200931_102.jpg

There is loads of air in the back, but also in the front

euro200931_103.jpg

Awesome

euro200931_105.jpg

The Brakemen were awesome

euro200931_104.jpg

He was riding with these glasses for a while :)

euro200931_106.jpg

Yay, for double down when you leave your seat

euro200931_107.jpg

Tornado again

euro200931_108.jpg

Too, bad that it sucks, Intamin should do Mega coasters not small rides

euro200931_109.jpg

There one train goes again

euro200931_10.jpg

Buy Bakken it was fun, but we have a boat to catch

euro200931_111.jpg

And we did, but they failed pretty bad to dock :)

euro200931_112.jpg

On the way back we started to go with warp 1

euro200931_113.jpg

Then we had a rough transition to...

euro200931_114.jpg

HYPERSPACE!!!!

Next up is a final post of this trip...

Wow, just caught up on the final reports. Amazing as usual loefet, some really great photos in there from Hansa, Tivoli and Bakken. The shot showing FvN's layout from above is sweet.

I'm liking the new entrance too from Hansa, I didn't think much of the park last year and only spent about about 2 hours there but I'd love to do it again with FvN there now.

The Tivoli Gardens pics have messed up on my computer but your report from Hansa is awesome!

FvN looks like one of the best eurofighters i have ever seen, the outside layout looks sexy. But before it goes inside why does the track change colour?
