Parks with the best line-ups

This is a thread that might help people planning trips. As a newcomer to the coaster enthusiast community, it feels quite important to me.

Which parks have the best roller-coaster line-ups ? The question is different that "which park is the best" as it focuses only on roller-coasters, with no regard for flat rides, dark rides or park thematisation.
Obviously, several questions arise, as "what makes a good line-up ?" : The number of coasters, their quality, size and fame, is the line-up balanced and well rounded ?
For example, Plopsaland is a small park with only two thrilling coasters (in 2017) but they look like they compliment each other perfectly (the intense launched multi-looper and the fun airtime-filled wooden), and I'm going to check that as soon as Heidi the ride opens (hopefully this very weekend).

Therefore, I would like to know your answers for the following questions:

*Which park has the best line-up in the world ?
*Which park has the best line-up in a given region ?
*Which park has achieved the best line-up with a small number of coasters or limited resources ? Which small/medium size parks are the best rounded overall ?

I know you've been around for a few months but welcome to the forums!

Im not particularly well traveled but out of the parks I've done there are a few standouts;

Liseberg; Helix, Balder, Liseberbanan

Phantasialand; Taron, Black Mamba, Colorado Adventure

Mirabilandia; Katun, Ispeed

Walibi Holland; Lost Gravity, Goliath

Efteling; Joris, dutchman, baron

Other parks with more coasters but arguably less quality; Alton Towers, Thorpe park, Toverland, Gardaland.

I'd make an argument for Port Aventura, Europa Park and Heide Park to be included, though admittedly, Heide would rather depend on Colossos re-opening...

I haven't done any of these yet so can't pass judgement all look good on paper though, I've been to PA once and it was long before Baco. Can't really remember Khan!

The only one so far mentioned really is Liseberg. It's the only European park which holds it's own coaster wise against the states. Helix, Balder, Lesbianbanana and the new Dive Coaster are by a mile the best in 1 park on this side of the pond. Most of the other parks maybe have 1 world class coaster.
The US has a few parks with an excellent lineup;
SFGadv - El Toro, Nitro, Kingda Ka and Bizarro for starters, not to mention a Batman clone and a Superman UF clone.
Hershey - Skyrush, Storm Runner, Fahrenheit and Lightning Racer, with a load of other decent creds.
Cedar Point - Maverick, MF, Dragster and RMC Mean Streak
Hell, even SFNE, as rubbish as most of the creds are, still has a RMC and Superman/Bizarro in it, that's better than most other European parks.

Fuji Q as well, Dodonpa, Eejanaika, Fujiyama and Takabisha are a formidable lineup.

Best line up in the world? I'll be the first to say it, and you may see it a lot, but no contest, Cedar Point. They already have the best collection of coasters in the world, and with RMC Streak coming in 2018, it is absolutely no contest in my opinion. No I am not a Cedar Point "fanboy."
Hershey Park also has an incredible lineup, with an amazing top 5, and various Six Flags have great lineups, most notably MM, GAdv, and GAm.

Some "smaller" parks that I think have great lineups are Silver Dollar City and Dollywood. Herschend is really expanding these parks. SDC has my #1, a great B&M sitter, Powder Keg is a funky but very underrated ride, Thunderation is one of the best mine train coasters out there, and they're getting a launched Mack spinner next year, which will be so unique and only help their lineup more. I have never been to Dollywood but I am going this summer so I can't really judge too much. Lightning Rod looks like the best RMC currently, Thunderhead looks like a top 5 GCI, Wild Eagle looks like a good wing rider and the rest of their lineup is great also, like Firechaser and Tornado.

Got to give a mention to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Gröna Lund for this question. Both have absolutely no space to build anything, yet have an impressive line up. OK, enthusiasts are lukewarm on The Big One, but... it's huge. The amount of intertwining between all the rides at both parks (Gröna especially) makes for some interesting experiences.

Overall though, of the parks I've been to, I'd go with Alton, Heide, Liseberg and Phantasialand.

I'll make an arguement for Alton Towers.

Sure, some of their rides might not be the best. But they're unique. There's no other park in the world with a ride that does 14 inversions.

They have a world's first (though they refer Smiler as a world's first) and that would be Oblivion, the world's first dive coaster (despite being at 84° and not 90°).

With the addition of SW8, the park will be even better. It's never had a wooden coaster from what I remember, and it'd be the first wooden coaster built in the UK since... whatever time.

Whilst I do naturally show I slight disregard to towers, I've visited a lot recently and find it pretty boring, I can see your argument to an extent.

Nemesis is world class but has a lot of nostalgia towards it, I personally don't rate it that highly but I respect that there are many that love it.

The smiler is a big draw but it's an average ride, same as galactica, thirteen, oblivion, Rita and I'd bet a fair amount on SW8 being average too.

I think your point would stand better 10 years ago when these rides still had their wow factor.

Overall I think there's a better case for Thorpe having a better coaster line up than towers.

I don't actually know as much about Thorpe as I do with Alton. Probably because they don't have neat castle ruins on grounds.

Still, Alton in my eyes is a neat park and they do some neat things (like, use a horror zone to explain a backstory to a ride story). If Alton didn't have so many restrictions and had much more land, the park would be much better than it is now.

I'm going for 2 very obvious answers - Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six flags Great Adventure.
Both parks are literally just coaster porn. Between them they've got just about every type of coaster there is, the majority of them being some sort of record holder. Yeah, my kinda parks! :)
I've not been to Cedar Point, but I suspect that will feature quite highly in this thread too.

SFMM and Cedar Point - Classic, all-of-the-above lineups.
Dollywood and Silver Dollar City - Good quality roller coasters for what each park offers. Nice variety between old and new, tall and small, and RMC vs. everything else. :p
Hershey - The Intamins carry the day, with a good supporting cast.
SFFT and SFOT - Texas has great roller coasters between these park's RMCs and classic coasters.
Kings Island, Six Flags Over Georgia, Carowinds, Six Flags St. Louis - all second tier parks in their respective chains, but have a few gems that rise to the surface.

All the American parks mentioned excluding Dollar and Dolly have a LOT of filler from an enthusiasts perspective, so they'll never meet the "best line-up with a small number of coasters".

I'll throw in Djurs as it hasnt been said yet.

That and Liseberg, as it has only featured on 25% of posts in this thread so far, which isn't acceptable.

Don't be too mistaken - I will still take Cedar Point and SFMM's lineup over anything else every day of the week.

Fuji Q stands out for me, as it has such a weird but awesome Coaster line up.

Liseberg has a great coaster line up and has some great flats and water rides.

Nagashima Spa Land has a plethora of creds and some interesting flats
