Goon of the Year
So this trip was delayed by a week, but finally got on with it! We started stupidly early from Yorkshire to get to our first park, MouseAT stayed over the night before due to it being really early. So set off for the first park, Greenwood.
After a few hours and a couple of stops, we arrived and met up with Ian and Darren, and proceeded into the park.
Which happened to be my 100th park!
We explored the park for a bit, stumbled on Green Dragon which didn't open till 10:30
So decided to look around the park as all of us haven't been there before and saw the largest love spoon...
Yeah, how is someone supposed to pick that **** thing up!
And found their aMAZEing maze, with such a aMAZEing croc in the middle
More walking around the park and found the zip line things where Reb just bounced along at 1 point. It was almost time for the coaster, and strolled up there ready for it to open. We had to wait for the 2nd train, but never mind, it was a cool concept with having to bring the train up with us going down and then having to walk back up.
I got front row for it, and POV'd it, nice and smooth little coaster, perfect for that park. Got off collected our bags, and saw the photo booth, a print at home type kiosk, perfect, insert £1 and get it sent to your home. Why the **** not XD
Now for the 40 min drive up to our next destination, Knightly's, just to grab the twin spiral dragon coaster, whatever it's name was!
Ian sat this one out (As he has already got the cred) whereas we got a ton of laps on it -_-
Oh well up to Tir Prince next, Reb and Andy grabbed a rde on the After Burner which me and Darren sat out on. Now for the mini apple cred.
No brakes, great, so went quite quickly considering. Just another +1. Now over to Z40 Roller Coaster.
We saw the first drop, and thought it might be painful. Especially with them restraints
We all got off it surprised on how smooth it was. Well time to move onto Rhyl, and grab the cred on the sea front.
Ian joined us for this one, so a nice little +1 for him. Just meh, another quick coaster. Now we decided to meet each other over at New Brighton, for the next coaster and my #400. So we arrived grabbed our tokens ready to ride Wallis's Wonderful Wriggling Wirral Wacky Worm. Great long name, isn't that the longest coaster name in the world? Besides the Apple looked nice and shiny.
Well nabbed that one, and got my picture with Ian and my 400 sign. Put it this way, it was very windy!
Now for the journey to Southport. Darren and Ian needed fuel, so we decided to meet them there. Took the tunnel crossing under the mersy for £1.70. Saved time really. Got there, and was stupidly windy, and there was a flower show on nearby.
We found out Ian and Darren avoided the toll, that gave us a chance to explore the park. Most of it looked shut. Not good!
Went to the new cred.
Well that's not open yet! Popped over to the Wildcat, all the cars had the covers on.
Apparently it was down for 'preventive maintenance'
Honestly, not great for a Sunday in the summer. Only coaster that seemed to look open was Grand Canyon.
No op around for the Go Gator
And no track for Camelot's old Dragon coaster
Dunno if the Disco was coming or going...
And the Miami looked ****.
Mehhhh! Eventually Darren and Ian arrived, we assessed the situation, got the tokens required for us for Grand Canyon. Many laps later, we got off. We all decided that we were not going back until it is stable. It was utter ****. Nothing is guaranteed at that place.
Off to the pub for a meal and a nice chat. Then said our goodbyes. Great day. Well worth the +7 to my count, and hitting my 400th coaster. And even better just knowing it is purely European parks too! Hard work. Hope you enjoyed the read of our day out.
