Re: GCI Woodie for Kings Island 2017?
^That was a trademark Jarrett dig at Lightning Rod, actually.
In all seriousness, though, if this is the first launched GCI than that means whatever Alton has up their sleeve is even less exciting now. Don't think it will be, though. Emily and I have been basing our speculations and discussions about Cedar Fair 2017 off of that timetable that Cedar Fair put out not too long ago, and one of the things on the plate for 2017 was a "mid-thrill attraction," a GCI fits the description for this perfectly.
I also can't help but feel like this might be included as part of Planet Snoopy rather than Rivertown. Not only does Rivertown have an iconic world-class wooden coaster like Ben said, but Planet Snoopy lacks any proper family coaster. They have three kiddie creds, but nothing that can be properly enjoyed by parents and older kids that might also serve as a first full-sized coaster for those little screaming pooping demons that just braved all three smaller Planet Snoopy coasters and feel ready to try out a big full-sized coaster without switching areas completely. Not to mention Planet Snoopy has had a tradition of including family-friendly rides such as Surf Dog or Woodstock Gliders. Not sure a 100-foot GCI wouldn't be pushing it for this, they just added two rides to Planet Snoopy, and I doubt they would tease anything Planet Snoopy this much, but I certainly wouldn't rule it out as a theory. Hell, Wilderness Run would even work as a name for a GCI twisting back into the woods over Whitewater Canyon.
But anything that takes crowds away from my purple-haired goth mistress Banshee I'm good with!
