Apparently they now want to open this in phases 2 which will result in the resort consisting of two parks.
Still don't think this will ever happen...

It certainly reinstalls some faith, though, don't you think? Or is it just me? Anyone? No? OK, I'll go now...

It's nice that you're naively optimistic but they've been releasing statements like this a few times a year for ages now. Logically it doesn't mean we're anywhere nearer this park being real because they've made another vague announcement.

I think they have overestimated the yearly attendance.

If this was going to happen, there would be planning by now. Lovely idea but it’s just a huge pipe dream.

They can't even open a Go Gator on the site, never mind opening 2 parks.

    Investment Boost for London Resort
Plans for the London Resort have received a boost today with the announcement that a new investor is set to inject £25 million into the multi-billion pound project.

Keltbray, an engineering and construction firm whose previous projects include the London 2012 Olympic Park, Crossrail, and Earls Court, have confirmed that they will be contributing the new funds, as well as bringing their construction industry expertise to the project. London Resort Company Holdings, the company behind the London Resort Project set for the Swanscombe Penisula in Kent, hope that Keltbray’s involvement will prove to be the catalyst for further investment from the construction industry.

Speaking to local news outlet, Kent Online, Steve Norris, London Resort Company Holdings Chairman said:

    Chief executive, Humphrey Percy, added:

Chief executive of Keltbray, Brendan Kerr, also commented:

That's a tiny investment compared to the overall scale of the project but at least it's movement in the right direction for once

Nah they just popped a quarter in the parking meter so it wouldn't expire.

    Still not happening.

Wow a whole £60 million has been put into this. It's not like it costs £250mill to kickstart a Legoland park.

To be a Disney/Universal scale park it needs several billion. Unrealistic dream is still unrealistic.

£60million is a start, though; surely the main budget won't be put in until after the planning application has been approved? I seem to remember hearing that this will cost £3.5bn overall or some huge amount like that...

Only ~0.25% of the total budget has been allocated at this point, Where are they gonna get the other 99.75%?

They've got investors lined up, haven't they? I thought they'd secured some form of huge investment from Kuwait?

Someone has either been conned, are deep into the sunk cost fallacy, or the reporter has misunderstood whether money is actually being spent. I think it'd be more productive to throw £25 million into a paper shredder than into this project, because then you'd at least get a bag full of perfectly usable confetti out of it.

I just had a thought; they could try and obtain government funding! As a park of this scale will surely increase tourism to the UK when it opens!

Have you thought about applying to be their new CEO since you clearly know everything they should be doing.

I would be utterly useless! I never said they should be doing anything; I more meant that that was what I thought made logical sense, if you get what I mean.

Thank you for the encouragement @Bert2theSpark! I suppose I did finish a fully-themed Planet Coaster park with 12 roller coasters in it... ;)
