Fårup Sommerland 2022

So a follower of CoasterClub Denmark sent us some very interesting photos the other day, showing a big land clearing going on in the eastern part of the park. They've cut down a lot of trees and there also seems to be a good amount of activity already.

Whatever this is, it's definitely big and probably for 2022.

I could be pulling this from my arse, but I'm sure I heard a rumour that it's possibly the mystery Vekoma coaster from this thread:-

So my guess is that they got a 2-for-1 deal from Vekoma with Saven being the already built coaster. But either way, this should be an exciting development to follow.

Hmm ... thrilling family ride, or tame family ride? As I've mentioned before, basically all Danish parks are family parks, so I have little faith in anything extreme happening here. For reference, the last time a coaster with inversions was built in Denmark was 2008.

Then again, Fårup Sommerland was one of the two Danish parks to build such a coaster that year, so I wouldn't entirely rule out an appetite for something thrilling ...

Very interesting to follow.
This park, and almost all other Danish parks, were customers of the company I used to work for. Denmark (and the rest of Scandinavia) was always lots of fun to got to. And really friendly people to work with.

I am really starting to believe that vekoma has some kind of deal when someone is buying a big coaster from them. I mean Phantasialand has Raik and FLY, Energylandia has Formula and Abyssus and therefore two Family boomerangs. Also Tripsdrill got HüK and Volldampf and Tayto Park is going to have the same combination.
Maybe Farup will belay that theory (not inevitable at all, i know, but we'll see)

You could extend the theory to Parks and Resorts Scandinavia buying Wildfire for Kolmården (as Vekoma is RMC’s broker in Europe) one year and a family boomerang for Furuvik the next, or all the Fantawild parks opening up that seem to be getting a new-gen Vekoma looper/Family Boomerang combo.

Fårup is practically the odd one out here so there’s a decent chance another Vekoma could be coming.

As a resident in Denmark its hard not to get carried away with high expectations and buy into the 2-1 deal.
Covid, a lower equity after buying out the former owner and the «family» route speaks against a new big coaster.
But In 2018 they got permission to build up to 40 m in height which was limited before due to the close location to the coastline. This could fit with a Bermuda blitz
The permission for the 40 m is only allowed in the inner zone of the plan. Not sure if this matches with location of the coaster club sighting
