So how true is this, anyone else heard anything about this?
However, Andy Mulvihill, the son of the original owner, Gene Mulvihill, has since repurchased the park following a documentary that went viral titled the Most Insane Amusement Park Ever. The documentary apparently reminded a lot of people of why they missed the park so much, even if it had a dangerous reputation.

As a part of Action Park reopening, many of the rides have been reconfigured to make them a bit less dangerous and meet all the needed health and safety guidelines. However, the old rides are still there, giving people enough of a scare to conjure up childhood memories they will never forgot.

It is quite true and a simple check of the park's website would have cleared up any doubt you might have.
The kid and I went there in August and many of the rides have changed (you now even have to wear helmets on the river rapids) with the most dangerous ones closed or removed completely. They have added a new one called Zero-G that is really fun, but nowhere as intimidating as some of the older attractions.
We already started this topic back when this was first announced in April: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37648 Any further discussion can be done there.
