Work is going to start at the end of this year for a new £35m leisure complex at Gt Yarmouth Pleasue Beach. There will be; 2 hotels, cinema, large casino, restaurants and a bowling alley. All to be built at the arse end of the Pleasure Beach.

Hopefully this will finally bring some proper investment in to the Pleasure Beach.

Sounds more like a private investment firm has bought a load of land and is building, much as they are across a lot of the country. Is it owned by GYPB or just next to their land?

I doubt it will really impact if it's the latter.

Its definitely the Pleasure Beach that are building it. The Pleasure Beach own the land too, its partly being built into the park as well.

Take a look at the link, though thats only about the casino license really.

It smells of cookie cutter investment to me. It's kind of the "every small town needs one of these" plan.

They probably do actually, but it's not very imaginative...

Agreed. My little town has recently opened a hotel, cinema, restaurant complex and a bowling alley. Although there are no creds in Eastleigh.

If it works out and they end up building more rides as a result then it's a, erm, result.

Love the fact this was granted the Large Casino Application that Blackpool was denied, so funny!

I hope it does affect the Pleasure Beach and causes a bit more of an investment, last time I went (it was a long time ago), it seemed very dated and kind of grubby, as I said, it was a LONG time ago and know it will have ore than likely changed by now.

^ It hasn't though.

I Get the feeling they've been saving all their money for this. They're pushing this as a 'high class' venue, yet its next to the dumpy PB, so they'll need to address that.
