Aight so the Definitely American Triple Loop managed to open this past weekend without further incident, apparently it runs butter smooth. Still the one train right now, although as a condolence they've managed to return smooth two-train operations to Steel Hawg.
However, the park has seen...
Belgium Ride to Happiness was built to straddle a couple of very jigsaw piece sites and Holiday Park obviously has a different selection of space to play with. Not sure whether it was ever in question as to whether it would be custom but whatever. Great to hear out of the park.
Adding to other...
Good Gravy is now open and serving dinner;
Only complaint I’ve heard is that it’s doing 5-6 minute dispatches for whatever reason. Not preferable with a single-train, lap-bar-only opening weekend coaster, but whatever. Gravy tastes good apparently.
Ah yes, the headline we were all waiting to hear;
This was filed by FORREC of all companies, a very very known theme park designer. The project is also “working on a new timetable”, which makes sense given that a 2026 debut for all this seems a tad hooey...
Ride shipments continue. Over the weekend we had 68,500 pounds of "columns" shipped from Tianjin, allegedly for that big Noble Rides/KCI observation wheel. Barring a few smaller rides and anomalies, this would be the first major Chinese ride project on US soil.
The Italian ride shipments...
Oooo nooooo where ever could it be going
Coaster is still sitting in pieces, shipping has yet to begin.
Word on the street is still UK for some ungodly reason, brace yourselves maybe?
And give S&S more business? Noooo thank you...
(I understand that S&S knows how to make their flats well and all but we North Americans are still kind of reeling from the disaster that was Steel Curtain and long term inconveniences on other rides coming back to bite those parks in the ass right...
Yeah there were probably a few different pitches, but if a vote for a “world-first” water coaster came down to this and a checks notes Looping Powersplash then I’d be more inclined to bet on this. 😜
Also knowing Mack they’d probably be using LSM’s on this. Mack Produkt, Mack Budget, ja?
Only...
Some eagle eyed Coasterfriends users made an observation. So as it turns out, uhhh that water coaster layout that Cedar Fair posted about in a survey the other day kinda matches up with Plohn...
World's-first launched water coaster (suck it Catapult Falls), decent price tag, consistent docs...
They’ve done this before in 2020, when they kept rides closed during the pandemic to take advantage of a local loophole. Zoos were allowed to operate but not parks.
If they could have rides open they would, especially with the kid’s area at the front of the park receiving 90% of their...
Some notes;
Early last year we had intel that a B&M Giga Dive, Surf Coaster, and Mack Xtreme Spinner were on the decision table for Kings Island. The B&M's would have gone where Timberwolf Ampitheatre is, strangely enough. That info has now been proven to be 2/3 correct.
Regardless, how much...
Carowinds was kind enough to put out a survey today, featuring two items of note that were more or less mentioned here.
Mack Water Coaster
The same concept was also shown in a survey for Cedar Point, but the idea proposed here seems to include a launch and a pair of "high five" banks similar to...
Well LOL doesn't seem like inspectors were down with that idea.
They had to up it 11 inches. Is this the most drastic height requirement revision we've seen on any coaster?
