The Blackpool attractions have been on my “must do” list for a while now. It had been years since I’d last visited the Pleasure Beach, so was pretty excited to experience the rides from an enthusiast point of view.
This is quite long (sorry)
Day one - BPB
Setting off early on a hot, hazy...
*warning, this is long*
After a brief delay at East Midlands airport, I finally arrived at Hotel Portaventura after 11.00pm at night. Tired and very hungry, we grabbed a drink at the on-site café before heading to bed.
I wolfed down a quick breakfast the next day before eagerly heading out...
Arrived just after 9.00am at a very quiet Alton Towers!
Made my way straight to Nemesis, but had to wait due to being the only person on the ride. In the end a member of staff went round with me. It was pretty surreal being the only person in Forbidden Valley.
Rita next! The tunnel looks...
A little NL project I'm working on. I've completed half of the layout now, but am a little stuck for ideas after the brake run. Anyway, here's a few pictures of the progress so far:
The first drop and vertical loop
The Zero G, cobra roll and brake run
Very exciting news! According to TowersStreet, Oblivion will receive a much needed repaint and some TLC. The Sanctuary is also set to return for the 2013 season.
Good times :)
Am I only one that doesn't care much when it comes to park shows and the like? I know they play a major part in the ultimate theme park experience, but I don't have the patience to sit through singing and dancing if there's a top notch B&M within the vicinity.
There are several rumours going around that PA want to do away with Furius Baco. The park are investigating possible(?) health problems and complaints from riders.
Assuming this to be true, it'll be interesting to see what PA use as a replacement attraction.

I arrived just after 3.00 on a bitterly cold afternoon. There was quite a bit of traffic at the entrance to the park, although staff...
Well it's nearing that time of year again. What do you do to get through the closed season?
I'll admit to eating lunch in Drayton Manor's car park. There's something very surreal about a theme park in winter - I love it.
Well that’s my biggest (and best) trip of the year over. I know Alton received some criticism for their choice of lighting in certain areas, but the whole atmosphere was just incredible.
Day 1
Arrived at the park just after 4.00 and headed straight for Forbidden Valley. I did Nemesis several...
My latest RCT3 project. Now there's no back story or much to see just yet, but I thought I'd showcase the progress so far.
The entrance plaza and car park
Falcon - a B&M inverted coaster. This coaster features four inversions and interacts with the landscape.
A Nemesis style helix, with...
Just read this on the Facebook page:
Incidents like this don't happen too often in the UK, so I thought it was worth reporting. It's absolutely tragic and my condolences go out to the family.
